South side of house where garden will be
South Fence looking upstream of the Mississippi

River Front looking north east
Where I think the Dock will go
Zoomed in photo of neighbours ice fishing at the end of December – not sure ice is that thick though
Cold Day in January – Road is well plowed
Looks like one solitary track on the river
Neighbour to the south made a small skating rink
Looking North to where the house will be next winter
One of the few big surviving trees along the edge of the river – with an inhabitant
Heading back to the car – be careful not to step in the water that came up from under the ice
After a few weeks of cold weather we can finally go out on the river. Already many snowmobiles have been out.
Joop enjoying some open spaces but really not happy about these snowmobiles – worse than bicycles and roller bladers combined!
We met out neighbour also walking on the river. They told me that the snowmobiles actually prefer the a trail on the far side of the river on the ridge as it is open all season. This is the trail looking north. Maybe we can use this trail in the off season to walk.
On our way back now, after a 4 km snow shoe down the river. It was clouding over and snow starting again.
